Sheila Honors

The Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCM) has conferred Sheila with their highest merit, The Honoree Award, for its 2005 The Outstanding Young Malaysian (TOYM) program under Cultural Achievement category.

"Thank you for this prestigious and deeply meaningful award. It is indeed a great honor to be recognized in the field that I have been committed to for the past 20 years and it is humbling to join the list of past honorees. I will treasure this award and what it symbolizes. I’m very grateful to God for giving me this talent and for the opportunities that I’ve had throughout my journey.

The greatest acknowledgment and gratitude must be given to my loyal fans that have supported me throughout the years. To all the people that have contributed in my career, I thank you. It takes the best in each of us to bring out the best in all of us. Thank you for sharing your best with me. May music keep us together!" said Sheila humbly.

Sheila Entertains Hospice Patients and Charitable Fans

To celebrate World Hospice Day, Hospis Malaysia has organized a 'sold out' charity dinner and concert titled 'Voices for Hospices 2005' on 24 September 2005 at the happening hotel, JW Marriot. The concert received such an overwhelming response from charitable fans (and some organizations) that JW Marriot even had to increase the tables!

"It's a great honor to be a part of this event and I would like to thank everyone who has supported this cause. Your contribution has given the patients a new light to celebrate life. Thank You!" said Sheila.

Sheila's one hour performance was packed with her greatest hits which ended with an encore of Legenda, Antara Anyer Dan Jakarta and Aku Cinta Padamu. Have a peek at some of the photos here!

Sheila spellbinds fans in wonderful Womad!

Thanks to all fans in Singapore, Sheila's very first Womad appearance was a huge success (and turnout)! In her first energetic 45-minutes performance for Womad, fans were yearning for more as soon as she ended her performance. WOMAD 2005

WOMAD stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance and gives its name to the internationally established WOMAD Festival, which brings together artists from all over the globe. The central aim of the WOMAD festival is to celebrate the world's many forms of music, arts and dance.

As an organization, WOMAD now works in many different ways, but the aims are always the same - at festivals, performance events, through recorded releases and through educational projects, WOMAD aims to excite, to inform, and to create awareness of the worth and potential of a multicultural society.

Our very own Sheila Majid is representing Malaysia in this year's festival. Sheila is expecting to wow the crowd with her 45 minutes greatest hits selection, specially rearranged to suit the world music theme. You can expect the unexpected from her! It's an event not to be missed by music lovers.

In conjunction with World Hospice Day, Hospis Malaysia has announced that it will be holding a charity dinner and concert titled 'Voices for Hospices 2005' on 24 September 2005

'Voices for Hospices 2005' is an international celebration which will be held around the globe to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world. It is a world simultaneous singing event that will be taking place in theatres, concert halls, hotels and a host of other venues.

This year, the event will be held at the 'Happening Hotel' JW Marriott Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. There will be an opening act by the Actors Studio and concert featuring Malaysia's finest singing sensation, Sheila Majid.

After more than a decade since her last visit, Sheila was back to charm her fans with the latest songs from Cinta Kita and her evergreen hits. The Mother's Day concert was made possible by The Empire Theatre Hotel & Country Club and jointly organized by Taka jewellery, Jim Thompson and Kristal FM.

Sheila's short visit was filled with many activities. Her first being a special guest for a morning talk show, Rampai Pagi, then a live radio interview with Kristal FM and finally a Meet The Fans Session at the Taka Jewellery, The Mall.
